houses?
The garden separated the two houses one side was of
Marches’ which was an old brown house looking rather where and shabby, robbed
of the old vines that in summers cover its walls and then the flowers
surrounded. And on the Other Side was of Laurences' which was a stately stone
maison, plainly betokening every sort of comfort and luxury from a big coach of
house and well- kept conservatory and glimpses of lovely things one caught
between the rich curtains.
2. What make the Laurences'
house lonely?
Though Laurences' house was luxurious but it was lonely and lifeless sort of house for no children frolicked on the lawn, no motherly face ever smile at the windows and few people went in and out except the old gentleman and his grandson.
3. How has author
described Laurie appearance?
The author
has described Laurie as a boy with brown face at the upper window who was
looking wistfully down into their garden, where Beth and Amy were snow-balling
one another.
4. What do you understand
by the line “The boy is suffering for society and fun,” ?
Jo meant that Laurie was lonely and had no one to talk and play with him, he is also unhappy and need to interact with kids of his won age.

Jo threw a
handful of soft snow towards Laurie to grab his attention.

evidence from the story.
Yes Laurie
was sick as he said that he had a bad cold and been shut up for a week.

Laurie’s
servant announced it to Laurie that a lady had come to see him.

He liked the
way in which everyone sit around the table with their mother. He liked it the
most because he never got any mother love and never had a dinner like that.

Aunt March
was a fidgety old lady with a fat poodle and she had a parrot that talked
Spanish and a Library where she is reveled.

She clapped her hands and pranced as she was especially delighted.

The library was lined with books and their were pictures
and statues and distracting little cabinets full of coins and curiosities, and
Sleepy Hollow chairs and queer tables, and bronzes, and best of all, a green
open fireplace with quaint tiles all around it.
16. How did Jo describe Mr.
Laurence?
She
described him as he had got kind eyes though his mouth was very serious and he
looks as if he had a tremendous will of his own, but he wasn't as handsome as her
grandfather but she like him.
17. Describe Jo’s feelings
when she hears Mr. Laurence voice.
After hearing Mr. Laurence voice poor Jo blushed till she couldn't blush any redder, and her heart began to beat uncomfortably fast as she thought what she had said.
18. Describe the second
look of Mr. Laurence which makes Jo free of her fear?
The second look showed her that the living under the
bushy eyebrows were kinder even than the painted once and there was a sly
twinkle in them which lessened her fear a good deal.

Laurence is pleased with Jo?
Jo’s odd behaviour and her quick response pleased him.

describe Jo’s grandfather?
He described him as a fine man who was brave and honest
and he was proud to be his friend.

There was
colour, light and life in Laurie’s face, vivacity in his manner and genuine
merriment in his laugh.

She said this because he felt that Jo was the one who made him happy and brought colour, light and life in his face, and also had a vivacity in his manner.
